Delegating Tasks to a Virtual Assistant

If you’re a business owner, chances are you’ve been so overwhelmed at times that you’re not even sure where to start. You have an ever-growing list of tasks that need to be completed, but you simply don’t have the time or resources to do them all yourself. Sound familiar? I thought so! If this is you, you’re in the right place. Its probably time to start delegating tasks to a virtual assistant for maximum efficiency within your business.

The Benefits of Delegation

Delegating tasks to a virtual assistant can provide so many benefits for your business. Not only does it free up your valuable time for the projects you truly love working on, but it also gives you the opportunity to have collaboration within your team. By delegating tasks to a virtual assistant or another member of your team, everyone has the opportunity to learn new skills. Or develop their own abilities. Someone on your team might find out they really like writing. Or that they really DONT like writing. Either way, you are giving them the chance to learn & grow. Bonus: it allows your team members to take ownership over certain projects and build confidence in their growing skillset.

How to Effectively Delegate Tasks to a Virtual Assistant

When delegating tasks, it’s so important to make sure each task is assigned to the right person. Before assigning tasks take some time to understand each team member or virtual assistant. Learn their strengths. Their weaknesses. Ask them what kind of tasks bring them joy. This will help you delegate tasks to the RIGHT person. Also, be sure to provide clear instructions on what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. This will save you from having to continuously check back in on things. Before giving them the green light to take over, make sure your team has access to any tools or resources they may need in order to complete their assigned tasks successfully.

By having the RIGHT people on your team, it will be so much easier to delegate tasks for maximum efficiency. Are you thinking, this all sounds great, but you still have no idea where to start? Don’t worry, I promise you’re not the only one. I know how scary it can feel to partner with a Virtual Assistant. Your business is your baby after all. I created a free guide for you to help walk you through the steps of brining on a virtual assistant to your business. (and of course if you’re already sold, let’s chat!  )
