Worried Your Virtual Assistant Can’t Keep Up? Here are 5 things to do.

As a business owner or entrepreneur, hiring a virtual assistant can be a game-changer for your productivity and efficiency. However. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Especially at the beginning. Feeling a little disappointed in the Virtual Assistant that you hired? Are you thinking, okay what do I do now? My virtual assistant can’t keep up. It’s easy to get worried, but before you throw in the towel, consider these tips for optimizing your virtual assistant’s performance.

Identify the Problem

First, take some time to identify the problem. Is your virtual assistant consistently missing deadlines or producing subpar work? Or, are they struggling to keep up with your workload? Perhaps communication is lacking or there’s a mismatch in expectations.

Whatever the issue, be specific and communicate it to your virtual assistant. Give them a chance to address the problem and work with you to find a solution.

Revisit your Expectations

It’s possible that you feel your your virtual assistant can’t keep up because they don’t fully understand your expectations. Take a moment to revisit your expectations and ensure that they are clear, specific, and measurable.

If you haven’t already, create a detailed job description and communicate your expectations for deadlines, communication, and quality of work. Provide feedback regularly to help your virtual assistant improve and stay on track.

Offer Training and Support

Sometimes, virtual assistants struggle because they lack the training or support they need to excel in their role. Consider offering training or resources to help them improve their skills and work more efficiently.

For example, you could provide access to online training courses or offer one-on-one coaching sessions to help them improve their communication skills or learn new software programs.

Set Realistic Goals

It’s important to set realistic goals for your virtual assistant to ensure that they can succeed. Don’t overwhelm them with too many tasks or set unreasonable deadlines. Instead, work together to create a realistic workload and timeline that allows them to focus on quality work.

If you’re unsure of what’s realistic, talk to your virtual assistant about their capacity and experience. You may need to adjust your expectations based on their skills and availability.

Monitor Progress

Once you’ve identified the problem and taken steps to address it, be sure to monitor your virtual assistant’s progress. Check in regularly to ensure that they are on track and meeting your expectations.

If you notice that they are still struggling, don’t hesitate to offer additional support or make changes to their workload or responsibilities. Remember, the goal is to optimize their performance and help them succeed in their role so that they can help YOU move your business forward.

Hiring a virtual assistant can be a great way to streamline your business and increase your productivity. However, if your virtual assistant isn’t meeting your expectations, it’s important to take action to optimize their performance.

One of my favorite things about our virtual assistant agency is that ALL of our virtual assistants have full access to a training vault packed full of resources with video trainings and tutorials. Not to mention a team of other virtual assistants and online business managers to bounce ideas off of. When you partner with a virtual assistant from our team you can be confident in the fact that if they don’t have the answer, we have someone on our team who does, or a video to walk them through it. Partnering with a virtual assistant can be an exciting and overwhelming point in your business. We get it. We would love to chat with you about what your business would look like with support from one of our talented virtual assistants!

when to delegate in your business

02

Knowing when to delegate in your business is one of the most important, and most avoided, decisions a founder can make. Not because it’s complicated.
