How the Enneagram Can Help Small Business Owners Succeed

As a small business owner, I know you’re constantly looking for ways to improve your operations and make sure that your business is running as efficiently as possible. As a small Biz owner myself I know it can be difficult to know where to start when it comes to developing yourself and your team. That’s why this blog is so close to my heart. Tons of small biz owners are turning to the Enneagram for answers. Let’s go over the basics of what the Enneagram is and how the Enneagram can help small business owners succeed.

Are you thinking what the heck is The Enneagram? No worries, you’re in the right place. The Enneagram is a system of personality types that has been around for centuries. The Enneagram is said to be able to help you gain insight into yourself and your team. Making it easier to work smarter, not harder. Okay, now to the good stuff.

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a model of nine different personality types that focus on uncovering core motivations that drive behavior. Each type has unique strengths, weaknesses, values, fears, and desires that set them apart from other types. To determine which type you are, you take an assessment—the Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator—which will identify which type accurately describes you based on a series of questions about yourself and your behavior in various situations. Knowing your personality type can help you better understand yourself, as well as others motivations in both personal and professional settings. You can take the Enneagram test at The Personality Lab.

Benefits of Using the Enneagram for Small Business Owners

Once you know what type you are on the Enneagram, it becomes much easier to see how certain traits are impacting or improving your performance. For example, if you have strong analytical skills or empathy but don’t have great people management skills or communication abilities. Knowing this about yourself allows you to focus on areas where improvement could be made in order to become a better leader for your team. BONUS: understanding more about each individual member of your team helps foster better communication between everyone involved because each person knows their own strengths and weaknesses more clearly.

As a small business owner, it can be difficult to manage everything while also making sure that everyone is working together cohesively towards common goals. The enneagram can help small business owners succeed by providing insights into everyone’s unique motivators so that Biz owners can create an effective team structure without having to guess what drives each person. By understanding both yourself and those around you better through this personality test, it becomes easier to reach collective goals within your small business.
